Dream Team Training – Opportunity Or Scam?

The Dream Team is a training organization for people in network marketing and MLM businesses. They claim to be able to train distributors to add 20 – 30 new people per week into their downlines.

I have personally interviewed a number of students in the Dream Team, as well as Terry Duff and Gino Niccoli, the founders. There are some very real concerns about being a Dream Team student, and in this article, we will go through and look at the pros and cons of becoming a Dream Team student.

Dream Team – The Bad

The Dream Team provides marketing education and training to network marketers. They teach how to use the phone, the internet, and the written word to attract people that are already looking for your product and service.

Can a distributor add 20 – 30 people per week into a business? Absolutely. I found that some students were adding more than that, but the most important thing to understand is that it is not a walk in the park. It takes many students 3, 4, some even 5 months to understand exactly how to apply the techniques to their businesses.

Unfortunately, many network marketers are sold on the fantasy of just joining a business, and having a couple of friends or family members grow their downline for them. The Dream Team does not support this at all, focus on developing people into entrepreneurs who are willing to work to get success. They stress that growing a hugely successful business is not easy, and for network marketers looking for a “silver bullet”, they will not find it with the Dream Team. It is not a get rich quick type of program, and it seemed that the students who had the most trouble were those that expected immediate results with minimal or no effort.

Also, the education and training is not cheap. Their low-end package is $699, and their top package rings in at $1,999. For someone looking for an el-cheapo fix, they will not find it with the Dream Team program.

Dream Team – The Good

The best part about the Dream Team is that their education actually works. That might seem to be expected, but in this day and age of hype, there is much to be said for a program that can deliver on its promises.

Their training is based on effective marketing techniques and methods used by professional marketers, but customized for network marketing. They pedigree is impressive, as they appear have learned from very experienced marketers such as Yanik Silver, Joe Sugarman, Dan Kennedy, the late Gary Halbert, etc. These professional marketers routinely charge upwards of $3,000 just for a 4 day seminar, making the Dream Team education look like a bargain.

In attending an actual class, we found it was a surprisingly refreshing and honest look at what works in network marketing. The class was clear, to the point, and full of actual “meat”, good content that someone could use and apply. So many times, network marketing training is a bunch of fluff and hype – All sizzle, no steak. They seem to pride themselves on giving out “steak” – good information that can used, applied, and repeated.

One of the students I interviewed explained that they had applied the techniques he had learned to his MLM, and over the course of 10 months, had grown his downline to over 23,000 customers and reps, and had won a number of awards from his company. We also found some students that had signed up, and though they enjoyed the training, never really applied it, and thus, never really got any significant results.

To sum up, the education and training is a good match for networkers that are sick of chasing their warm markets, that are willing to work, that have some money to invest into their business, and that are serious about becoming successful. For those with the lottery ticket mentality, this education would undoubtedly be a complete waste of time and money.
