Multi Level Marketing, now known as Network Marketing, has been trying for years to correct a blemished record set by some indiscriminate companies. Network marketing is really the sale of products by an independent contractor. These sales are conducted by individuals. That individual is known as a distributor.
The success of network marketing is dependent on the ability of the distributor to sell the product and enlist others to join his/her team. Each new distributor that is brought down the line is encouraged to do the same thing; sell product and enlist others to join the team. The original distributor continues to sell the product and receives a commission on sales made, as well as a residual commission from the sales of his/her team.
Once it was thought that the best way to enlist people to join your team was to start with friends, relatives, neighbors and anyone that would listen. This was an act of futility in most instances. It only caused the distributor to alienate everyone. Now, the best way to enlist people for your team is to offer them a business opportunity online. Here you have the attention of many people that are interested in what you have to say, that will join your team.
Whether you are new to Network Marketing or not, training is essential because times and products change. Every MLM company should offer training for their distributors. If the company you are joining does not offer training, consider another company. MLM training is most important to those that have not sold anything as this is a new area for them. Selling is an art and convincing people to join your team is also an art. Training to use people skills is necessary. In MLM you are doing both and to master both of these skills you need training. Network marketing online demands that you become computer literate in order to be able to sell a product and convince people not only that you have the best product on the market, but that they should join your team.
As in any other business, training for yourself and for your team is preparation for success. Your own training will tell you what is new in the field and what new methods for sales and team building are available to you. It is equally important for your team to be trained properly as most of them may be new to sales. They need to know about the product they are selling and how to develop people skills. Meetings with your immediate downline are needed in order for them to remain focused and to give them incentive. Selling and convincing people to join you are an art that requires people skills and you need training to master them. You need to be computer literate. You have to be able to excite people into thinking you have the best product on the market and that you can offer them the best business opportunity available.
