Network Marketing Success: Giving Your New Members the Support They Need to be Successful

One of the biggest problems faced by network marketers is training for new members of their downline. A lot of training is either ineffective, not sufficiently comprehensive or worst of all, entirely absent!

Obviously, you need too educate new recruits about how the program works and the details of the commission structure, but this in and of itself is not enough. New recruits must also be trained on how to make a marketing system effective.

Think about this a minute and you will appreciate the value of doing this – after all, what are the most common complaints that marketers hear from their downline?

“I can’t seem to find leads; where and how do I do this?”

“I’m not getting any recruits.”

“I’ve been doing this for months and I haven’t made a cent.”

These complaints indicate two problems – insufficient training, as well as the absence of a clearly defined marketing system. You can’t blame your downline here – they want to be successful too. There is another problem at work.

It isn’t that they are not motivated – but they will become unmotivated if you just set them adrift with no support or roadmap to making a success of their business. If they can’t get the program to work for them, they will quickly drop out in search of other opportunities.

So what can you do for your downline? Simple – teach them about how you made your business a success. Especially if you are a marketing professional, you may not even realize that you have a marketing system.

Think back on what you did when you were starting out. If you’ve been successful, then you do in fact have a marketing system – or you wouldn’t be in the position to ask yourself this question.

As you recall the steps you took along the way, write them down. How did you generate leads? How did you follow up with prospects? How have you gotten the conversion rate that you have?

You need to then teach this step-by-step process to your downline. You must teach them how to follow in your footsteps and let them have the success you have had. This can be quite simple.

You can automate your training process if you can get your downline signed onto your mailing list. This way, you just have to write these materials down one time. Following this, training can be delivered via your autoresponder.

Easy, yes? It is indeed, but it can make all the difference.

If you want to really build your business and increase your profits, you need to give your downline proper training in how to make their business a success, just as you have with yours.

Is Network Marketing or Direct Sales really for you?

You may be asking yourself this very question whether this is your first stab at Networking Marketing or it may be your tenth.

When you were approached by the person that ultimately sold product to you or sponsored you into the ‘business opportunity’ the picture that was painted for you was probably very rosy and appealing.

You love the product and believe that your enthusiasm will make it easy to get others to buy it or join in on the “opportunity”.

The Presentation you saw or the Briefing Call you heard made it sound like a piece of cake.

But, the question still lingers in the back of your mind….

Is Network Marketing Really For Me?

ABSOLUTELY YES!

Let me tell you first hand that Network Marketing has amazing benefits that can really help anyone to be successful in their lives.

There are some very important steps you must take first before you jump into the world of Network Marking, MLM or Multilevel Marketing, Direct Sales or Internet Marketing.

The very first thing you should know is that NetWORK Marketing is WORK just like every other venture you will get involved with whether it is a traditional W2 job or your own business.

Oh no! Did your sponsor forget to tell you that part? Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news, but it is the truth.

Also, when you join this awesome company or amazing opportunity you become a Business Owner.

Yes, you are now officially an ENTREPRENEUR!

Your new company may provide you with a boatload of training calls and materials, have tremendous Upline support, inspirational live calls or conventions and more “education” then you know what to do with.

The bottom line is that YOU are 100% responsible for making things happen in your business.

YOU are your own fastest path to Success!

Here are some basic definitions and terminologies that you will hear in the Industry and throughout this series that will help you to fully understand and grow forward with your success:

Network Marketing-a business in which a distributor network is needed to build the business. Usually such businesses are also MLM in nature in that payouts also occur at more than one level.

Network Marketing is sometimes also used incorrectly to indicate that the business uses a network of product suppliers in order to offer a broader selection of products. It is usually used this way to differentiate themselves as a way to suggest that their program is superior to other such programs.

MLM-is selling products by using independent distributors and allowing these distributors to build and manage their own sales force by recruiting, motivating, supplying, and training others to sell products. The distributors’ compensation includes their own sales and a percentage of the sales of their sales group (downline).

Another description is any business where payouts occur at two or more levels; i.e., if you make a sale, both you and the person above you will get a portion of the proceeds.

Downline-a multilevel marketing term that refers to the distributors sponsored directly in your group, as well as those sponsored by other distributors below.

Upline-the distributors that you sign up with your Multilevel Marketing plan are called your downline. The distributor that originally recruited you is called your upline. Often he or she will give you some help getting started, including training.

Warm Market-in sales and direct marketing your warm market is said to be people you know, which could be friends, relatives and existing customers, even referrals are said to be warm.

Three Foot Rule-states that whenever you’re within three feet of someone, you should talk to them about your business and the services you provide.

Leads-possible parties that may or may not have an interest in your product, service or opportunity that you will be contacting in person, by phone, mail or Internet.

Prospecting-finding qualified prospects (or interested parties) for your products or services is a necessary first step in the sales process. You need to have someone to sell to before you make a sale. There are “cold prospects”, “qualified prospects” and “targeted prospects”.

Closing-completing a transaction or sale.

Network Market is definately for you!

The opportunities for success, self satisfaction, financial freedom and control over your life are all true advantages to Network Marketing.

You will realize these benefits by taking 100% responsibility for your own actions and by empowering yourself with the appropriate training and marketing tools that will ensure your success without stress!

What it Takes to Get Started, Network Marketing and the Newbie

Posted in Network Marketing Training on August 5th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Here you are a brand new person to network marketing and MLM. I know you’re asking yourself, “What am I suppose to do now?” The answer is very simple, TAKE ACTION! Ok, that’s it! That’s the end of the article. So, what did you learn? Oh! You want more? Ok.

Believe it or not, network marketing and MLM are very “simple” businesses. One of the greatest business models ever developed to allow the average individual to make an above average income. “This business is simple,” you ask? Yes! Very simple. The only thing is, like any business, it is not “easy.” It will take work on your part. This is a key reason why we call this business net-WORK-marketing. Get it?

The first thing you should do is become very familiar with your company, culture, products/services, and comp plan. Even then, the comp plan is not the most important thing you should fully understand at this point. Although, you should have discovered while researching your new company how you are going to be paid and where your income will come from in this business. This process may take as long as five days to get this information under your belt and comfortable.

A major key to your success starting out is do NOT talk to anyone about your new network marketing business until you have gone through the “Getting Started” training with your company and your sponsor. I can’t stress this enough. This can make all the difference in the world in how you get started out with your new business. Trust your sponsor and the company training. You should have learned from your due diligence of the company and sponsor; if the training and system is working for your sponsor and other successful people in the company, then it will work for you.

Get engaged and meet regularly with your sponsor for training calls. Get involved in the weekly corporate and team training conference calls. Read through the brochures. Get very comfortable with your company back office system on your website. When you learn how to best use the elements of your back office it will serve you very well. If your company back office does not include a contact manager/database, then you need to talk to your sponsor to determine which is the best for you.

What do you know about marketing your new business? Nothing? I thought so. This is an area where you will need to duplicate the online and offline marketing techniques of those already successfully working them in your company. In the case where your sponsor can’t seem to help you with this then track upline until you find someone who is willing to work with you and share their information and experiences. No sense reinventing the wheel in marketing as that can be very time consuming.

You have made the choice of which company and sponsor you wish to work with in your new network marketing business. Now is the time to STOP looking at other opportunities both on and offline. You need to be focused on your new business and not distracted with the latest and greatest new start up company. Have faith in yourself and your decision and stick with it.

Now is the time to become immersed in your new business, the company, get involved in the culture, focus on ACTION, and “fall forward.Something that will be of great help to you and you should write these 12 words on a note card and stick it over your desk, “I must do the most productive thing possible at every given moment”.” You will fail at different elements of your business but learn from them and move forward. No successful person in history made it without many failures.

So, in summary, your success or failure rests totally in your hands. You have to take the initiative and learn, experience, trial and error, fall forward, and take positive productive ACTION on a daily basis in your business. As I said in the beginning, network marketing is simple but not easy. As you have already learned in life, nothing worthwhile comes easy.

I hope this has given you a better idea of where you’re going and how to get there. There is no secret to this business as any successful professional will tell you. If there is a secret to success it lies within YOU. Now, take the opportunity you have been given and personally chosen and make the best of it to become successful. I have faith in you and you CAN do this.
